Winter Time at The Brookfield Zoo | Hinsdale Area Moms

I set out this year to try and get outdoors more, even if the weather is, well, Chicago weather. I HATE being cold and I can’t stand bundling the kids, but I firmly believe that the benefits of fresh air for both my children and me outweigh that.

Ryan and Juliette are only in school half day, so we spent our afternoon at the Brookfield Zoo and it was fantastic! We bundled up, packed the stroller with a blanket and everyone was happy. We were basically all alone with our animal friends and so many came out to say hello, I didn’t know so many animals were still out in 32 degrees–WIN! Many of the attractions are indoor so the time out in the cold is limited and broken up which really helps keep everyone happy and warm. During the week the carousel is closed and so are most of the restaurants, just a heads up if those are typical stops for your crew. The Chicago Wolves Ice Skating Rink is up and open on the weekends.

From now until February 29th, 2020 admission to The Brookfield Zoo is FREE on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, you only pay for parking and attractions–such a great deal!!!

If you’ve been thinking about it like I was, I say go for it! We can’t let this weather hold us down!!!
