Have you tried TURNIP Fries, yet? I know you may be thinking, first they made pizza crust out of cauliflower, but now French Fries made of turnips? I was skeptical, too, friends! I have to admit that I actually really like these and my kiddos ate them too! They have a more peppery flavor than regular potato fries, but they are certainly a “low carb” option and a way to get some more veggies in! Let me know if you try these. Here is a recipe I have been loving. Bon Apetit!
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 turnips
- 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil (coconut oil and avocado oil would also work)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder (or a seasoning mix of your choosing, I like M Salt or a little cayenne, too)
- sea salt and black pepper, to taste
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 425 F.
- Peel turnips and cut into steak fries, about ½ inch thick.
- In a large bowl, toss all ingredients until turnip fries are well coated.
- Place in a single layer on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Flip fries and bake an additional 15-20 minutes
