Dr. Tamara Oweis, DDS, MS, Diplomate, American Board of Orthodontics, is a local wife, mom and co-owner and co-founder of Band and Wire in Clarendon Hills.
What’s your favorite family activity in the Hinsdale, Western Springs, LaGrange, Clarendon Hills Area?
We love all summer festivals; uniquely Thursdays in Hinsdale, Daisy Days and Dancin’ in the Street in Clarendon Hill and the La Grange Endless Summerfest
How many children do you have and what are their age(s)?
We have 3 kids, Andrew (6 YO), Bella (4 YO) and Luke (6 months)
How long have you lived in the Hinsdale/WS/LaGrange/CH Area? What made you decide to live here?
We moved to Hinsdale from Chicago in 2014. We could not think of a better place to raise our kids; awesome community and excellent schools. We love it here!
Where’s your favorite place to eat and/or shop in the Hinsdale/WS/LaGrange/CH Area?
Our favorite restaurants are Fuller House, Vistro and Nabuki.
For shopping, we really like My Sister Kate, Blue Iris, Vintage Charm and the English Garden. We love to support local businesses.
What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I really enjoy cooking and baking! Nothing brings the family together better than a good home-cooked meal.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
I would like to thank my mom, my caregiver, and my friends for being beside us through parenthood.
Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world?
My husband and I established Band & Wire Orthodontics in Clarendon Hills in 2018. It has been an amazing experience! Being a local business owner gave me the opportunity to be more involved and give back to the community we all love.I am also a member of the Hinsdale Junior Woman’s Club; a wonderful organization with amazing women working together for a good cause. It is also a great way to meet new friends.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
When we moved here a few years ago, we were welcomed by everyone and we felt right at home. We felt the same way when we opened our business last year. We are thankful for being here.
