Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
Yes- I am the founder of the CAST Water Safety Foundation. Our mission is to increase access to ISR swim and self-rescue opportunities. We also have free educational resources which empower our followers as well as swim families to create strong water safety strategies. Drowning is the leading cause of death for healthy kids under 5 and can happen in under 30 seconds. The large majority of accidents happen when water is nearby but kids are not expected to be swimming.  With all children out of swim lessons of any kind right now, it’s more important than ever that families and communities create strong water safety strategies using multiple layers of protection.  CAST’s educational resources are free to anyone and provide simple tools for keeping your family safer in and around water.  The final layer of water safety protection, should all else fail, are survival swim lessons.  We can’t wait to get back into the water in order to teach children ages 6 months-6 years of age how to swim, float, and self-rescue.  We proudly choose the @infantswimmingresource (ISR) method for self-rescue instruction which means all of our instructors are highly trained in a program backed by over 50 years of research.  While most families are drawn to us for safety, they keep coming back because of the amazing confidence boost that these skills and this physical activity affords their kids.  CAST is proud to provide scholarships to families with income based need, nurses, first responders, teachers, social workers and more!  We are the only organization (that we know of) to support new ISR instructors with a full time staff that provides mentorship for business development.I am also on the board of directors for the Enchanted Backpack which is an educational resource for teachers. Finally, my husband and I are big adaptive sports enthusiasts and are proud to be part of the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee’s Paralympic Working Group.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
We are so grateful to have pool space at Superior Training in Willowbrook. We are also going to be providing ISR swim and self-rescue lessons at the FMC Natatorium in Westmont.
