What’s your favorite family activity in the Hinsdale Area?
We love to walk around our neighborhood or through Fullersburg woods with our dog, Red. During the summer, we love the pool and Uniquely Thursdays!
How many children do you have and what are their age(s)?
Finn – 2.5
Bee – 16 months
Baby 3 due March!
How long have you lived in the Hinsdale Area? What made you decide to live here?
I was born and raised in Hinsdale! I lived in the city for about 7 years after college. My husband is a Hinsdale area native, and both of our families still reside in the area. We wanted to move back close to family.
Where’s your favorite place to eat and/or shop in the Hinsdale Area?
So many choices! For a date night out, we love Nabuki. With kids, we love Fuller House or Dips and Dogs.
What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I (along with my 3 siblings) am adopted!
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
I couldn’t do it without the support of family and friends. Being a parent is tough work! I’ve received amazing support from all around the world through my blog, too. So many great moms – and to know we are all going through the same thing is extremely comforting!
Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
Yes! I am the founder of bumblebaby. The bumblebaby blog and instagram are dedicated to all things motherhood, including baby + toddler safety, baby proofing, how to properly bottle feed, sleep tips, bringing baby/baby#2 home, infant + toddler tips, breastfeeding tips, postpartum depression/anxiety, and so much more. As a NICU RN, certified CPR instructor, breastfeeding counselor + certified sleep consultant, I am a “mom coach” dedicated to making the road to motherhood a bit smoother. I combine my expertise in these areas + my experience as a breastfeeding + supplementing mom to best prepare new parents for parenthood with a realistic + non-judgmental approach. We are all just doing our best as parents, and we have to look out for ourselves as mamas, too! bumblebaby is a community for parents to learn from + lean on each other, and laugh a little along the way. I offer tons of great advice though highlights on IG, but also offer personalized services such as sleep consulting and breastfeeding consulting, if you need more of a 1:1 approach.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
Bumblebaby started with “consults” for family and friends in the area, and has grown to be so much more than I ever could have imagined. Many of my husband’s friends were having children at the same time as us, and as you know, becoming a parent can be a nerve-wracking experience.Our friends and family found comfort in my experience as a NICU nurse. I started out with simple newborn and CPR classes, and soon, born was bumblebaby!
