Meet-a-Mom, Courtney Casey

What’s your favorite family activity in the Hinsdale, Western Springs, La Grange, Clarendon Hills Area?
In the summer, you just can’t beat Uniquely Thursdays! We love being outside, listening to live music and catching up with friends.

How many children do you have and what are their age(s)?
We have two kids – Liam is 4 ½ and Caroline is 2 ½.

How long have you lived in the Hinsdale/WS/La Grange/CH Area? What made you decide to live here?
We moved to Hinsdale about 2 years ago and it has truly been the best decision for our family! My husband and I are both from the Western Suburbs and we had always hoped to move back to be closer to our family once we had kids. I’m very grateful for the tight-knit community we have and it’s also amazing to be so close to the culture and cuisine in downtown Chicago! I’m a city girl at heart but ‘burb life is the best life.

Where’s your favorite place to eat and/or shop in the Hinsdale/WS/La Grange/CH Area?
We are definitely a foodie family and love to eat out often (something we are missing quite a bit these days)! Fuller House is always our favorite go-to as is Altamura for authentic Italian pizza. I also love shopping at Anecdote in LaGrange for myself and for clients as well as Marcus in Hinsdale!

What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I love the theater and love to sing! When I was a little girl, I also wanted to be the first woman in the NBA. (Maybe because I was taller than all of my teachers by 5th grade or because I share Michael Jordan’s birthday.)

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
My husband and I are really fortunate to have our families nearby to help out and provide their constant support. I’m also so grateful for my amazing mom tribe! Quarantining with two little ones while trying to work full-time hasn’t been easy but having my mom friends just a Marco Polo away certainly helps!

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
Yes! Last year I launched my namesake business, Courtney Casey Interiors and it’s been an absolutely incredible adventure! I love helping families transform their home into a space that is beautiful, functional, and also reflective of their personal style! A majority of my clients are young families and I’m extremely passionate about helping them find the perfect balance for this crazy, beautiful stage of life. www.courtneycaseyinteriors.com

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
When we moved to Hinsdale, I was quickly welcomed by the ladies of Hinsdale Junior Women’s Club. From getting settled in and offering daycare suggestions to being my biggest supporters when I decided to launch my interiors business, I’m extremely grateful to have this remarkable group of women in my life – and to be a part of a club that does SO much good in our community!
