Have you Ever Considered Pelvic Floor Therapy? Here’s Why I Am Loving It! | Hinsdale Area Moms

Have you ever chuckled knowingly at the Mom Memes? You know the ones that go something like this, “Sometimes I laugh so hard tears roll down my legs” or maybe the thought of jumping jacks or long car rides with no bathroom leave you concerned. For me, it’s all of the above. I had four kids in four years and truly never gave myself the time or the resources to properly heal in between babies or after. I just kept moving forward. I wanted so badly to “bounce back” and resume my normal workouts post baby that I just chalked it up to one of the side effects of motherhood. Even now, five years after my last baby, I still didn’t prioritize it. I know these awkward topics aren’t our normal play-date conversation, but what the heck, I’ll go there and maybe you can relate.
I had heard of Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy before, but thought I didn’t have time for it. Moms, why are we always the last priority (topic for another day or days…) . My OB suggested it, but said she thought I was borderline so I let it go. I have learned what exercises I can and can’t do so I just made adjustments. I really started to believe that this was just my reality. I even convinced myself that as I got stronger the issues would likely resolve themselves—spoiler alert—they didn’t and will not!
Thanks to this incredible community I crossed paths with Khushboo Joshi and let me just say 3 virtual therapy sessions later I now know that bladder leakage is not something I just have to live with, but I can heal from the inside out, even 5 years post-partum! Working on my pelvic floor is something I should have done years ago, but it’s OK, there is much hope for me and I am so excited to be finally addressing this issue.
Let me tell you a little more about Khushboo. Khushboo is a Doctorate level Physical Therapist for over 18 years.
