After what felt like a never ending year of “unprecedented” times, I finally feel myself coming up for air! If you have followed along with me for a while you may know that I have decided that 2021 is the year of the MOM! The year MOM takes care of herself a bit and spends some time focusing on some of the things we may have forgotten about. In my pursuit of all things self care (and sorry, but a shower just doesn’t cut it for me) and something I have NEVER done before is topping the list– chiropractic Care! I am truly fascinated and so thankful for the Doctors at Root and Bloom Chiropractic who have talked me through everything.
I really didn’t know very much about chiropractic care so I knew I needed a doctor that was going to spend plenty of time explaining everything to me and I really found just that at Root and Bloom. Dr. Lauren Shelton welcomed me into their beautiful office and I instantly felt at ease. The rooms and the tables are welcoming and not your average doctors’ office. You instantly feel at home. At Root & Bloom Chiropractic, they utilize the most advanced chiropractic technology. The INSiGHT scans are made up of the three most important spinal-neural tests: Surface EMG, Neuro-Thermal, and Heart Rate Variability. The doctors at Root and Bloom use this objective data about how stress is impacting your central nervous system and your overall health. This method is safe for everyone, including kids, babies, and pregnant women! There is also a comprehensive exam and discussion of medical history, concerns and overall wellness goals. When you return for your second appointment all scans are reviewed and the adjustments begin.
My first adjustment felt very relaxing and honestly, I thought I would feel nervous, but after spending time reviewing the scans I felt like I could really relax and allow the adjustment to help me on my goal of overall health and wellness. Feeling my best, getting a healthy night’s sleep and being able to keep up with my kids are my main goals. I am fortunate enough to not have any injuries or chronic aches and pains, but was blown away after my first adjustment. I did feel a little sore, which I knew was a possibility, because Dr. Lauren tells you everything 😉 , but what I couldn’t believe was the mobility in my neck. It was the weirdest sensation feeling almost like my head was lighter. What makes it even more crazy is that before this adjustment I would not have even thought I had limited mobility in my neck.
I am currently seeing Dr. Lauren once a week and am really starting to take note of all the improvements I am starting to feel. I am learning that even though I would report that I feel good, there are ways to feel even better. And if you have one or any of the issues good chiropractic care can aid in, this is definitely for you! I really believe that this is a part of overall wellness for me and I am glad I am linking this into other self care I am making habit in 2021. It’s been a few weeks of adjustments now and it just feels so good, I look forward to my visits every week and know that I will leave there feeling even better.
